EP. 7 | Pop Culture & Entertainment: Drake on Kanye + Kevin Hart + Movie Reviews
Tuesday Jan 07, 2020
Tuesday Jan 07, 2020
The fellas talk about Drake's new interview with Rap Radar in which he claims Kanye is jealous of his progress in Hip-Hop. Do you think Kanye is actually jealous of Drake? John believes Kanye is jealous because Drake has taken his crown. Mike thinks it is Kanye's own fault for losing the throne in Hip-Hop. What do you think? Mike gives a review about the Kevin Hart documentary and how The Shade Room just used a minute clip for the click bait sensationalism. Josh isn't surprised because it is The Shade Room's business model. John and Mike talk about how you must be perfect in society in order to be a celebrity. Do you think it is unfair to take previous comments out of context? It could be a violation of 5th Amendment Rights. Mike reviews the new Oscar worthy film Uncut Gems starring Adam Sandler, Kevin Garnett, Lakeith Stanfield, Julia Fox and The Weeknd. What did you think of the movie? Would you see the movie based upon Mike's review? Mike also reviews the film Dark Waters starring Mark Ruffalo, Anne Hathaway in Ruffalo's first film since playing The Hulk in the MCU. Have you seen the film about the Atlanta bombings during the 1996 Summer Olympic Games? Mike reviews the film Richard Jewell and lets us know he was in the city during these events.

Mike, John, Rasheed and Josh talk about building a friendship before pursuing a serious relationship. Rasheed thinks if your partner isn’t your best friend, you might as well stop wasting each other’s time. John thinks people rush into relationships without discussing the parameters. They just get carried away with the honeymoon phase. Mike believes guys can be in the friendzone and move into an actual relationship. Josh thinks going through the friendzone is not the best idea considering the #MeToo culture. However, he does agree your lifetime spouse should be your best friend as well as lover. Would you rather be in the friendzone before being with your lifelong spouse? Mike asks the fellas what they would do if their partner could not satisfy them in bed. Rasheed uses a wonderful metaphor to describe the situation. Josh believes patience is the solution as long as it isn’t taken for granted combined with an enthusiastic spirit to improve the situation. John is going to be patient up to a certain point, and then he would go separate ways. What would you do? What if she asks you to do something you’re not comfortable doing like actually putting something inside you? After a lot of controversial feedback, the fellas talk about cosmetic enhancements. Rasheed said he doesn’t need the plastic surgery to be attracted to someone. It is a lack of authenticity and to impress people she doesn’t even know. Not to mention, girls are doing it without securing the bag. John defends his stance that was criticize in the barbershop. Mike still doesn’t mind a little nipping and tucking here and there. How do you feel about cosmetic enhancements? Leave your feedback and have it read on the next show! Thank you for listening and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! The fellas are back at in again for the last podcast of the year and decade. They are also joined by Rider University graduate and entrepreneur Rasheed Edwards who got a shape up from Jas with Josh during his college days. John talks about his travel experiences in Atlanta and how they have a very favorable men to woman ratio for men. Mike and John talk about their insights from The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime. A book recommended to everyone by Josh. Rasheed talks about his insights as a business owner and how the book is an incredible resource. Mike talks about his love and hate relationship with LeBron as a Laker. Rasheed and Josh make a case for LeBron being the best ever. The fellas talk about Kuzma’s trainer and his criticism of LeBron’s off-season regimen. Do you agree with Kuzma’s trainer saying Kawhi works on his game more than LeBron? Josh talks about his 40 days of alkaline veganism and celibacy as an annual cleanse. Rasheed shares his journey to discovering how to eat to live through Rastafarian philosophy epitomized by Bob Marley. The fellas talk about how Kaep’s AF1 with Nike is taking advantage of the culture’s interest in fresh kicks. The NFL Playoffs are taking shape, who is your pick to win it? President Obama raised a few eyebrows with this comments that women are better leaders than men, but the fellas aren’t buying it. Do you agree with President Obama?

EP. 6 | Pop Culture: Lizzo Antics + Rape Culture + Hip-Hop News & Beef
Friday Dec 27, 2019
Friday Dec 27, 2019
The fellas break down Lizzo’s recent antics at the Lakers game where she sported a t-shirt dress with the buttocks area cutout where she preceded to start twerking on the jumbo-tron. Do you think Lizzo is doing too much or is she being a trailblazer for young women who don’t want to be conventional? Josh thinks this further illustrates the double standard. Because if a man exposed himself in this way, he would be thrown in jail. The boys are anxious to talk about the very polarizing topic of rape culture in America. It seems as if men are instantly vilified whenever an accusation occurs without any facts, evidence and or context. And yet, women when engaging in sexual assault, are given much weaker penalties. In fact, even the false accusers of men receive very tame penalties compared to the people who had their rights violated from a false accuser defrauding the legal system. What do you think of this recent trend in society? Bill Cosby seems to be a martyr for the #MeToo movement along with Harvey Weinstein, while there are other people doing way worse and a lot of the testimonies all sound too similar. Mike, John and Josh share stories of vicarious #MeToo moments. Do you feel there is a double standard when it comes to sexual assault allegations? People are losing jobs and careers because it is a violation of their freedom. Diddy’s 50th Birthday celebration broke the internet. Especially when Jay-Z and Kanye seemed to put aside their beef for the occasion. Do you think they officially squashed the beef? Another public Hip-Hop beef was on display with Nick Cannon versus Eminem. Do you feel Nick using members of his Wild ‘N Out crew to help with the beef was whack or smart? Should Eminem even respond? Apparently 6ix9ine was finally sentenced and seems he will be released with a target on his back. How do you feel about this judgement?

EP. 6 | Dating: Feedback + Frequency of Sex + Friends of Exes + Plastic Bodies
Thursday Dec 26, 2019
Thursday Dec 26, 2019
In follow up to our most streamed episode due to one of our most controversial topics to date, the fellas discuss the fallout of the interracial dating podcast. Mike and John explain to Josh that certain men are sensitive when it comes to being called weak. John’s feedback didn’t want more criticism about black women. Josh was confused since the black men is the most hyper criticized being in the world, and then black women understand this and yet they just add to the criticism instead. Josh wants people to “keep that same energy” when it comes to criticizing black women for dating outside of their race. Especially influential black female celebrities like Serena Williams, Tika Sumpter Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Halle Berry, Eve, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Rihanna, Paula Patton, Garcelle Beauvais, Kerry Washington, Sanaa Latham and or Stacey Dash. There is an abundance of selective morality, do you agree? The fellas discuss the frequency of sex in a relationship and what would be the amount they would expect. Josh expects to have sex with his significant other every time he lays eyes upon her. John feels they would be intimate on a regular basis. Mike feels if they want the relationship to last, sex is a fundamental component of any relationship. Josh admits there are women with low libidos, so it wouldn’t make sense to get in a committed relationship with someone who isn’t capable of reciprocating your desire. Mike feels Josh and John are giving politically correct answers as if they are running for office. John feels this is the perfect time for “Storytime with Miguel.” Would you stay in a relationship with someone who doesn’t want to have sex as frequently as you? The fellas then talk about if they would ever date a friend of an ex. John would tell the ex her friend is trying to get at him. Josh thinks it would be funny to think about, but ultimately not worth the amount of drama that is curtained to happen. Mike has another story to connect his point of this topic. Would you ever date or smash the friend of an ex? The final topic is how the fellas feel about body augmentation surgeries. How do you feel about cosmetic enhancements? Mike feels it should be fine if a girl is going to feel more confident about herself. John believes girls are getting surgeries so they get more attention from guys and on social media. Josh thinks these people are attempting to solve an internal issue, externally. And because of this, a boyfriend’s attention/validation/compliments are rendered meaningless because she is doing it for attention/validation/compliments from complete strangers she doesn’t even know. Do you think there is an issue in society with how normalized plastic surgery has become? Mike teases a new announcement for the podcast.

EP. 6 | Intro: Beyoncé vs. Mary J. Dresses + Local News + Books to Read
Thursday Dec 26, 2019
Thursday Dec 26, 2019
The fellas are back at in again for the last podcast of the year and decade. After Diddy's 50th Birthday Celebration took over social media, celebrity attire was the talk of the barbershop. Beyoncé vs. Mary J. dresses caused tons of controversy due to personal biases (similar to the presidential impeachment). Josh felt their dresses were perfect for their respective bodies and Mike agrees. However, John believes Beyoncé's dress was trash, similar to Ebony's opinion at A Nu U Salon. Who do you think wore it better? For the first time in history, Miss America, Miss Universe, Miss Teen USA are all black women. John and Mike talk about their reading homework Josh gave them; The Millionaire Fastlane: Crack the Code to Wealth and Live Rich for a Lifetime! by author MJ DeMarco. Mike talks about one of his favorite books on dating from comedian Aziz Ansari titled Modern Romance: An Investigation. Have you heard of or read these books before? Trenton Central High School scholar athlete Athing Mu is the top track & field athlete in the nation and has recently committed to Texas A&M. Mike discusses Kev on Stage's encounter with a racist landlord.

Lizzo has been at the top of the headlines for her music, social media posts and now Lakers courtside outfit. Do you think there is a double standard regarding what is allowed to be posted on social media? Josh’s influencer social media sources inform him that fit, toned and athletic women have their posts removed more than Lizzo who is showing more – pun absolutely intended. However, if anyone says anything, then it is considered fat shaming and perhaps slut shaming. Do you think Lizzo should be dressing like this in front of children? Mike and John review the controversial hit Queen & Slim. Do you like the movie plot? Jas doesn’t believe their story should be encouraged because kids will take it out of context like how it happens in the movie. Mike and John agree certain scenes take away from the main themes in the movie. And once again, black people are being represented as copy killers which can add further intensity to the racial divide in America. Audiences were upset there was not a happy ending for the infamous duo. Do you agree? There has been a wave of black British actors playing African American roles in Hollywood; do you have a problem with this trend? Wack 100 caused a stir when he said Nipsey Hussle wasn’t a legend when it comes to music. The fellas agree with him, even though Nips recent music is exceptional. Rest in Power Nipsey Hussle. John and Mike’s microphones died throughout the conversation. You may have to turn up the volume. The A Nu U radio podcast will be going live Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 9:00PM.

In one of the most controversial topics to date, the fellas discuss interracial dating. Do you think races should self-segregate and only date within their race or did Martin Luther King, Jr. and the civil rights leaders have something else in mind during their protests? Jas calls in to talk about the topic with a special guest. Do you agree with Jas? Does race matter to you at all? The fellas also talk about the significance of titles in the relationship and who it matters to more. In your experience, who cares more about titles, men or women? More importantly, have you ever been in the treacherous friend-zone just to get an opportunity with your crush? Josh thinks it’s a waste of time and feels no one should have to beg anyone to be with them. Mike believes dating exes is romantic and should be done even though he never stayed with them long-term. John believes sequels suck and there was a reason why you broke up with one another. Josh thinks smashing an ex is cool, but being with them again rarely ends with happily ever after. Have you gotten back with an ex before? How did it turn out? Let us know your thoughts!

EP. 5 | Intro: Feedback + Mahomes vs. Jackson + Master P Noodles
Sunday Dec 08, 2019
Sunday Dec 08, 2019
The fellas are back at in again. The A Nu U Radio podcast was the talk of Mike’s family during Thanksgiving Dinner. We hope you all had a festive time with your families and we hope you have a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous new year. In case we don’t see you at the shop. John had some feedback from a young lady who thought the podcast should have more women input. Josh was confused by the question considering it is a podcast for men at the barbershop. Do you have any feedback for the podcast? Let Jas know and he will let us know. John came directly from the barbershop and the debate was Pat Mahomes vs. Lamar Jackson. Who would you take short-term and or long-term? John is unimpressed by Melo’s Player of the week award. Did Melo do enough to deserve the award? Master P started his own ramen noodle brand with a Cajun spin. If they are delicious and more nutritious than the typical ramen noodles, would you choose to support a black owned business instead? Hopefully the flavors are as delicious as they sound.
